Volunteer for Roadside Clean Up
Please register if you are interested in volunteering to help clean litter along the NCTC campus / Shepherd Grade Road in Shepherdstown, WV. We appreciate any help.
Position Description/Scope of Work: Adopt-A-Highway Continuing commitment to WV highways by maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of Shepherd Grade Road (Shepherdstown, WV)
Assigned Task: To pick up litter covering one mile on each side of the NCTC Entrance Road.
Meet/Time: NCTC Entry Building shortly before 1:30pm, for distribution of equipment and FWS volunteer group sign-up information sheet.
Start/end date: Thursday, September 22, 2016 (In Afternoon).
Req./safety training: NCTC staff will conduct briefing. Safety vests, gloves, and bags will be provided as well as transportation to and from points along the road.
Skills required: Ability to work as a team and meet commitment requirements.
Tour of duty: Quick teamwork to cover one mile of litter pickup on both sides of road.
Commitment: Volunteers who are in good health and are able to tolerate normal outdoor activities such as walking and stooping.
Job hazards: Wear comfortable shoes/boots, bring hat, long pants, oncoming traffic.
# Persons Needed: About a dozen+
Cancellation: If inclement weather activity will be cancelled, NCTC will notify.
Your volunteer efforts will help to beautify the National Conservation Training Center area and provide a much needed service. A special ‘thanks’ to you one and all.
